Taking a short break from their busy schedules, Art History majors and minors bonded with faculty over a festive lunch on December 6, Friday to celebrate the end of the semester and the upcoming holiday season.
The annual Art History Holiday Lunch is “always one of my favorite events”, said Co-Chair of the Majors Committee Daniel Glickman ’25, who attended the event with Co-Chair Valerie Gottridge ’25 and junior members of the committee, Annie Hedgepeth ’26 and Adrian Peoples ’26, as well as other majors and minors.
“Spending quality time with our amazing faculty is such a special experience for all of us art history students and reminds me how wonderful our department is inside and outside of the classroom,” Glickman said.
Echoing the sentiment, Gottridge said that the lunch “really confirmed for me that at Wesleyan, studying art history is also a means of creating community.”
“It was so nice to take a pause from studying and chat with peers, especially those who I had not seen in my art history classes this semester. It’s also always great to get to connect with the art history professors, who somehow always have very wise things to say!” Gottridge said.
